The Central Group in a Joint Venture with Hong Kong Land a member of the Jardine Matheson Group, are set to acquire the 25-rai (4-hectare) UK Embassy Site.

The embassy compound located on Wireless Road and in proximity to the Ploenchit Intersection, is reportedly being sold for a staggering Bt18.6 billion according to The Foreign and Commonwealth office.

Several news outlets are reporting that the Central Group is planning to develop a mixed-use project that is linked to existing Central Embassy. This landmark acquisition is reported to be the country’s biggest land deal.
