Phra Khanong tends to be more of a residential neighborhood rather than a commercial center. However its residents tend to be middle-class Thais and commuters that are attracted to its travel proximity to commercial hubs of the City (I.e. Asoke, Phrom Phong, etc.). The areas accessibility and the convenience of travel offered, has not gone unnoticed by the city’s property developers. As they have recently started building a range of Condos and Commercial spaces to cater for the neighborhood’s growing and active resident base. At present the W District a mixed-used (Retail and Residential) offers the area’s residents a range of restaurants, a sky bar and a night market. This landmark project which was launched only a few years ago, epitomizes the areas rapid gentrification.
